Tarun K. Juneja, CPA
President, Founder & Certified Public Accountant
» tj@cfotech.net
TJ founded CFO Tech in 2003 with the belief that small businesses deserve the same treatment as Fortune 500 companies. His philosophy of offering outsourced CFO services is directly attributable to that belief.
Characterized by his entrepreneurial spirit, as well as his passion for numbers, T.J. is driven to help businesses succeed and grow by providing the highest quality accounting services, comprehensive financial insight and unparalleled tax advice. Excellence is a way of life for him. One of his favorite sayings is “Those who fail to plan, plan to fail.”
TJ spent several years during his early career in the public accounting arena at Kenneth Leventhal, CPAs and later Ernst and Young, LLP. He then moved on to the private sector, serving as CFO in a growing IT company, where he benefitted from seeing the other side of financial management.
As a young accounting graduate, TJ earned the singular distinction of not only passing the CPA exam on his first attempt, but scoring among the highest of thousands of CPA candidates who sat for the exam that year. That achievement earned him the prestigious Elijah Watts Sells Award (named in honor of one of the founding partners of Deloitte, Haskins & Sells, which eventually became Deloitte Touche, one of the “Big Four” CPA Firms).
Education
- B.S., Business Administration and Accounting, Columbia Union College, Tacoma Park, Md., 1992
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA), 1992
- Graduate Coursework, International Taxation, George Mason University, Fairfax, Va.

When he’s not working, TJ enjoys spending time with his two sons. He volunteers with the Cub Scouts and with his sons’ schools. His interests have rubbed off on his sons, as they like playing board games together like Life, Monopoly and Cash Flow. In addition to reading, TJ also enjoys hiking and working out to balance out his too-often sedentary professional life.

Julie Moffatt
Julie serves as the Comptroller at the Bondurant School of High Performance Driving. As one of our senior employees, Julie exemplifies our concept of providing full-service CFO services to our clients, as she heads up the accounting team installed in the Bondurant School.
Prior to moving to Phoenix and hiring on with CFO Tech at the Bondurant School, Julie worked in the accounting departments of Star Fuel Centers and Sunflower Broadband, and as a Staff Accountant and Tax Processor at the CPA firm of Schmidt and Eudaley.
Education
- Emporia State University (Emporia, Kan.) – B.S.B.M. in Management
- Kansas City Community College – Associate’s Degree in Accounting
Fun Facts
Julie didn’t plan to stay in Phoenix. In fact, she was on her way to California in search of her career, when she stopped in Phoenix to visit a friend. On a lark, she answered an ad from CFO Tech. She was surprised when she was called for an interview by TJ, and after a rigorous review, was offered the position of Staff Accountant at the Bondurant School. Since that fateful day, Julie has worked her way up to Comptroller, supervising a staff of two and answering to TJ, who also serves as the Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Bondurant School. Reporting to, and working with the school’s founder, Bob Bondurant, is an honor and privelege in Julie’s words.
Xing Yi (Joyce) Tan
Senior Staff Accountant
» joyce@cfotech.net
Joyce has the difficult job of not only servicing many of CFO Tech’s major clients, but also “keeping the books” for the firm itself. It is Joyce who generally pays the bills, processes CFO Tech’s payroll, and gets to sit in front of TJ much of the time, as he pours over each and every number she has entered right down to the smallest detail and decimal point. Mature far beyond her years, Joyce moved to the United States from Mainland China at the tender age of 17 to complete her college studies, and has been with CFO Tech since 2005 when she was graduated from Arizona State University.
Education
- Arizona State University, W.P. Carey School of Business – B.S.B.A. in Accounting with Honors; (She completed her studies in just three years)
Fun Facts
Joyce has a beautiful singing voice and can often be heard singing along with her favorite recordings early in the morning and late in the day. Her English is quite impressive — no doubt due, at least in part, to her love of singing both in Chinese and English. Joyce is in the process of applying for permanent status on her way to becoming a naturalized American citizen.
Joanne Whitmer
Staff Accountant and the Director of Marketing
» joanne@cfotech.net
During the tax season, Joanne takes on the added responsibility of heading up Tempe-based Liberty Tax Service –part of a nationwide chain of retail tax franchises– in which TJ holds an interest. Joanne holds a rather lofty title for someone just a few years out of college. However, she single-handedly hired, trained and managed a staff of more than 20 tax preparers in her first full tax season, more than doubling revenues over the previous year –a testament to her managerial and marketing abilities!
Education
- Arizona State University – B.A.S. in Digital Publishing
- Eastern Arizona College – A.A.S in Advertising Design
Fun Facts
Joanne came to CFO Tech through Liberty Tax Service, where she had been hired as a part-time Tax Preparer during college. She didn’t know what she was getting herself into. Joanne loves the outdoors and loves to organize.
